This session addressed the following two key issues:
1. Assessing Road Safety Risks
2. Improving Road Safety Outcomes
The Safe System Approach applied to all road users. This session highlighted road safety management and understanding through data assessment, and offered insights into the relationship between road infrastructure and safety. Data and risk assessments were emphasized, as well as how they could be used by transport agencies and practitioners to improve road safety outcomes. This session discussed safety approaches during typical and adverse weather conditions.
