Chair: Lee Chapman, SIRWEC Secretary, United Kingdom
Room: Room 5
The Standing International Road Weather Conference has been held every two years since 1984. For much of that time, every other event had been co-located with PIARC, but this connection has recently been lost. This foresight session was designed to re-establish that connection by embedding SIRWEC 2026 as a “mini conference within a conference” in Chambéry in 2026.
The mini conference was held over two sessions, each featuring invited presentations from SIRWEC colleagues. The first session focused broadly on advances in road weather forecasting.
